Copyright and Open Access Statement

All articles published in our journal are open access. Open access is defined in the statement published by the Budapest Open Access Initiative as follows:

Open Access means that scholarly literature is made available on the Internet free of financial, legal, and technical barriers, and may be accessed, read, downloaded, copied, printed, searched, linked to in full text, indexed, transferred to software as data, and used for any lawful purpose.

The same statement also includes the following provision:

Open Access Journals: Scholars need the means to launch a new generation of journals committed to open access and to assist existing journals that choose to transition to open access. Since journal articles should reach the widest possible audience, copyright should not be used to limit access to or use of the materials published in such journals. Instead, copyright and other legal mechanisms should be employed to ensure the permanent open accessibility of all published articles. Because price constitutes a barrier to access, these journals do not charge subscription or access fees and instead rely on alternative methods to cover their expenses. Possible sources of support include foundations and governments that fund research, universities and laboratories that employ researchers, donations made by disciplines or institutions to support research, advocates of open access, revenue generated from the sale of add-ons to core texts, funds released through the cancellation or closure of traditional subscription-based journals, and even voluntary contributions by researchers themselves. No discipline or nation is required to adopt any single one of these solutions, and the search for different and creative alternatives should not be abandoned.

Since its establishment in 2010, AJIT-e has conducted its journal secretariat, editorial, and peer-review processes on a voluntary basis. Nevertheless, the journal requires support due to the increasing annual costs of hosting and domain services, Crossref membership fees, article registration fees charged by Crossref for each DOI registration, and various other expenses. In order to ensure that our journal, which has maintained its publication life for more than ten years, can continue its activities within the framework of academic freedom, the Society of Academic Research on Informatics, to which AJIT-e is affiliated, was established. In addition to supporting the publication of the journal, the association provides both material and moral support to students and early-career academics and organizes scientific events. For this reason, AJIT-e requires the support of its authors. Within this scope, it has been decided to request a donation contribution of 1000 TL from authors who submit manuscripts to our journal for evaluation. The editorial board sincerely appreciates your support in this matter.

By signing the Copyright Transfer Agreement, authors grant AJIT-e the right to publish their work under the CC BY-SA license.
